At KIROS Early Education Centre, we believe that learning should be fun and full of discovery. Our curriculum is guided by our core values—Knowledge, Integrity, Resilience, Openness, and Stability—and draws inspiration from Montessori, Steiner, and Reggio Emilia approaches. We create a space where your child can explore, create, and grow, often having so much fun that they don’t even realise they’re learning!

Our educators are here to support your child’s journey in every way, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. We listen to what sparks their curiosity, encourage them to take the lead in their own learning, and ensure they feel valued every step of the way.

At KIROS Early Education Centre, your child’s day is filled with exploration, learning, and connection to culture. Each day has an even balance between structure and flexibility. Here’s how a typical day flows:

  • Yanu (Welcome): We start the day by greeting your child with warmth and a sense of community, easing them into activities that spark curiosity as soon as they walk through the door each day.
  • Play & Learn (Ngara & Yulang): Your child will enjoy learning through hands-on activities inspired by Montessori, Steiner, and Reggio Emilia approaches—creativity, discovery, and fun exploration! We also incorporate stories, songs, and cultural learnings to connect them with Indigenous traditions and knowledge.
  • Meals & Snacks: Nutritious, delicious, and social! Your child will share dandjoo (together) meals with friends, building community while enjoying healthy food and snacks to fuel their bodies and minds. Nutritious meals give your child the energy they need to stay active, focused and engaged throughout the day.
  • Rest & Recharge: Our littlest ones have a cozy nap, or gulung (rest), while older children engage in quiet activities to reset. This time is crucial for children’s growth, learning, and overall well-being. When children rest, their bodies and minds have time to recover and process all the new things they’ve learned, which helps them stay focused and engaged.
  • Outdoor Adventures (Nura): Time outside includes exploring nature, connecting with friends, and learning about the natural environment, inspired by the wisdom of Indigenous caretakers of the land.
  • Wrap-Up & Wind Down: We close the day with calm activities to help your child transition peacefully to home.

Through these meaningful touches, we honour Indigenous language and culture, helping your child develop a deep respect for the land and its first custodians.

At KIROS, our educators are not only highly qualified, they’re truly passionate about working with young children. Each of our team members holds formal qualifications in early childhood education, and many bring years of hands-on experience to their work. More than that, they’re dedicated to creating a caring, supportive environment where your child feels valued and inspired to learn.

Our educators continuously expand their skills, staying up-to-date with the latest practices and drawing from Montessori, Steiner, and Reggio Emilia approaches. With their warmth, knowledge, and commitment, we ensure that your child is in safe, capable, and loving hands every day.

At KIROS, the health and safety of your child is our top priority. We follow strict health and safety policies to ensure a clean, safe, and supportive environment every day.

Hygiene Practices: Our team is committed to high standards of cleanliness. We have regular cleaning schedules throughout the day, ensuring that toys, surfaces, and shared spaces are sanitized frequently. We also teach and encourage your child to practice good hygiene, like regular handwashing, to build healthy habits from an early age.

Illness Management: We take proactive steps to prevent the spread of illness by monitoring children for any signs of sickness and following exclusion guidelines if your child shows symptoms. If your child is feeling unwell during the day, we will contact you immediately to discuss next steps, ensuring they get the care and comfort they need.

Safety Measures: From secure entry points to regular safety drills, we work hard to keep your child safe at all times. Our educators are trained in first aid, CPR, and emergency procedures, and we conduct routine safety checks to maintain a secure environment.

These health and safety measures are here to protect your child’s well-being, so they can thrive in a safe and nurturing space.

We understand that starting child care can be a big step for both your child and your family, especially if it’s their first time. At KIROS, we’re here to make that transition as smooth and comforting as possible.

Personalised Settling-In Plan: Every child is unique, so we work with you to create a personalised settling-in plan that meets your child’s specific needs. This might include shorter visits at first, staying close to a familiar educator, or bringing a comfort item from home.

Warm, Welcoming Environment: From the moment your child arrives, our educators create a warm, welcoming environment. We start each day with familiar faces and friendly routines that help them feel safe and cared for.

Building Strong Connections: Our educators take the time to get to know your child and learn what makes them feel comfortable and secure. We use play, gentle encouragement, and lots of positive interactions to help them build trust and feel at home.

Family Involvement: We encourage you to be part of the process! You’re welcome to spend time with your child at the centre during the early days, helping them get used to their new surroundings with you nearby.

With these thoughtful steps, we ensure your child feels happy, safe, and confident as they settle into their new environment at KIROS.
